Welcome on-board for a guided fishing trip in Finnish nature!

I will take you and your group for a fishing trip on coastal or inland waters depending on the season. Mainly we are targeting sea run brown trout, northern pike, perch, or zander. Guided trips are suitable for beginners as well as for more experienced anglers. 

Ask also about flyfishing possibilities on river-Vantaa or from boat for sea run brown trout or northern pike in Archipelago.

Guide and gear

I am Esko Vuori and I founded my company Vajokki-viehe in 2013 based on my lure building hobby. Baits were working, I got good feedback from customers, so I decided to apply for fishing guide course. I got in and graduated with fishing guide certificate in 2017 from Salpaus further education center.

Main fishing what I do

• Spin fishing for sea run brown trout in Gulf of Finland
• Northern pike fishing with spinning or baitcasting gear
• Jigging for perch and zander
• Fly fishing for sea run brown trout and northern pike in Stillwater.
• Fly fishing in running waters, mainly in Lapland.

As a boat I am using Finval Fish pro 555 aluminum boat with modern electronics and trolling motor. Boat can take up to four persons in addition to myself.

Fishing from boat

Finval boat can take up to four persons in addition to myself when we are heading to southern Finland waters. 

A day package includes

• Guides services and boat with gasoline.
• All the necessary fishing gear, quality spinning gear in most of the cases. For trout and northern pike, we use my handcrafted baits as well.
• During the cold weathers warm floating coveralls and warm boots. Sunglasses and gloves available.
• Set of raincoat and trousers if necessary.
• Automatic lifejackets for adults, for kids, standard lifejackets.
• Boat has all the necessary safety equipment. 
• Some cold soft drinks, tea or coffee and small snacks.
• Cleaning the possible catch if you wish. Naturally we follow the rules and regulations, and we don´t take too much catch! Big ones and small ones we release.
• People fishing and age 18- to 64-year-old need to have Finnish fishing license “The fisheries management fee”. Those are not included, but I will assist you getting one, those can be bought on-line, for single day only and fee is some euros.

Price for about 7 hours fishing trip from boat including above is 750 € including VAT 10 %.

Groups bigger than 4 persons are handled with partner fishing guides, separate quotes for these.

With additional fee, a lunch, most of the places we fish, there is a change to make a fire on shore where we can prepare sausages to example. Some bread, salad, coffee, tea, and cold drinks can be included as well. For more intense fishing lunch in boat, to example some sandwich and salad. Separate quote for this.

There is also possibility for shorter evening trips in Helsinki area, please quote for this as well.

Sea run brown trout

Silver brown trout from Gulf of Finland must be one of the greatest catches that we have. Baltic sea has recovered lately and habitat for trout is getting better and because of this there is more and more trout and catching one has become more frequent. Sea run brown trout season start as soon as the ice are gone. Fish are close to the shoreline looking for warmer spots created by the spring sun. As the temperature rise fish are moving towards the open are of the Baltic Sea following the school of bait fish, like Baltic herring. Last trouts are caught in June from the last islands next to the open sea. Season start again in September when water temperature is dropping again, and it last until Archipelago freeze.

Main location for trout fishing is between Sipoo to Kirkkonummi sea area, mainly in Helsinki – Espoo. 

Season from April to June and again from September to December.

Northern pike

Southern Finland waters provide perfect and versatile surroundings for pike fishing. Pike fishing is possible through the open water season, but best season is during the colder water season in spring and autumn, when big fish are in the shallow waters. As a guide I will take you always on the best possible spots according to season. Baits we use are spinnerbaits, jerk baits (I have manufactured lot of different models we can try!), different shads (big rubber jigs) and more traditional spoons and wobblers.

Main location for pike fishing is some kilometers from Helsinki to west. Mainly from Inkoo to Tammisaari archipelago area. 

Season is whole open water time.

Perch and Zander

Main way of fishing perch and zander is to use bottom going jigs. Sonar is used to sound known spots to find the location of bait fish or zanders and perch. Light jigging gear offers lot of fun with strong perch! During the warmest summer period perch can be found also on shallow areas around vegetation. Then small spinners, blades or wobblers can be effective. 

Main location for perch and zander is Helsinki – Tammisaari archipelago. Also, lakes Hiidenvesi and Lohjanjärvi are available.

Fly fishing

Guided fly-fishing trips are along river Vantaa that is flowing to Helsinki – Vantaa – Nurmijärvi and Hyvinkää eventually. We can concentrate on fishing only for experienced anglers and with beginners we can go through the basics on dry land and after that we go to the river. Fish that can be caught are mainly rainbow trout and brown trout (now only C&R for brown trout) and other natural species like perch, pike, roach, chub and many other.

Basics and guided trip include

• Fly-fishing kit (rod, reel, line, leader, flies). With beginners we go through the theory.
• Casting training on dry land if necessary.
• Going through the river we are fishing, what to do and what to look for, where are the fish hiding.
• Guided fishing.
• We can make a fire (unless there is a ban due to the draught) where I will prepare some coffee or tea and some small snack and cold drink. 
• Maximum 5 people can attend in a group.

Season for fly-fishing is from June to September.

If possible, please bring your own rubber boots (waders not necessary, river is small) if you have, they are not necessary. Also, clothes in according to weather and a cap is recommended and own lunch. People involving in fishing need to have license in according to place, but I will assist getting these. License price not included.

Price for 6 hour guided fly-fishing for a maximum group of five persons on river including above is 500 € including VAT 24 %.

Groups bigger than five persons are possible, please quote them separately.
